Well the marvel universe apparently produced hit after hit and the culmination of all the previous movies led to... THIS?
I'm not surprised though.
Last year marvel managed to bring the father of all mediocre and bad movies (barring ironman 1, avengers 1,2 , winter soldier 1st half which were good movies in their own right).
This year they brought the mother of all mediocre and bad movies to the big screen. I must give them my congrats however.. They've managed to do two things.. One, bring superhero movies down to just a bunch of juvenile infuriating one liners that are supposed to be the comic relief but are not and also makes the story take a major backseat.. Two, they've built up the most toxic fanbase on the internet and outside.. I understand difference in opinion.. But to straight up call THIS movie better than the dark Knight is simply laughable.
Now that I've got a very small part of my rant out of the way, let's try to analyze the so called "story" which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
We see what is left of the avengers trying to locate thanos after that stupid snap in the previous movie.. They find him weak with a part of his face burnt and find that he has snapped infinity stones out of existence. So Thor kills him. We fast forward to 5 years later and find that black widow is heading the avengers and maintaining peace on earth while captain marvel does the same all over the universe.
Then antman makes a return and there starts the absolute stupidity in the story. The team plans a time heist I.e. go back in time and steal the infinity stones and snap everyone back into existence. Superb plan I say except for the fact that if you go back in time and steal the stones, are you not fundamentally changing the timeline? How in the name of world do you return to the SAME timeline? How is time "suspended" till you snap everyone back into existence?
If your answer is that time does not work the same way in the quantum realm, how does it work? Even if one experienced 5 years as merely 5 hours, the events in the intervening time period remains the same.. So by going back in time are they not changing the event itself? In fact, the changes should be evident at a faster rate in the quantum realm than it is ordinarily. And the changes in the timeline also solidify at a faster rate. So there should be multiple timelines.. How does each team return to the EXACT SAME timeline? And to top it all.. Iron man builds a fully functional time machine in a single night.. WOW.. Even for a comic book movie, suspending belief to this extent is the heights of stupidity.
Is this how they introduce the marvel equivalent of the multi verse(not aware of much of marvel comics lore)? Then this is lame.. If not, this is wrong and stupid and insulting the intelligence of the viewers.. Of course most viewers will not question it as it's MARVEL and they probably won't understand half of what's going on with all the stupid one liners being thrown around.
The other parts of the movie are equally cringe worthy.. Iron man's death felt unearned, black widows death WAS stupidly done and so on.
If you want to watch the real beautifully taken and riveting endgame, please don't watch this atrocity of a movie.
