Persona 5 is arguably one of the greatest games ever made and one of the finest JRPGs I have ever played in my life. I played this game during lockdown which really helped with my depression/anxiety (the power of videogames). The game has fine visual representation/art direction, an engrossing gameplay, a very rich storyline with plot twists along with morally based decisions and political dimensions as well as memorable music. The voice acting is at its finest too – in Japanese or English. I’m not going to give too much away because I don’t want to ruin anything but Persona 5 follows a high school student in modern day Tokyo (known by the pseudonym Joker) who gets transferred to a new school after being falsely accused of assault. During school terms, he and his classmates awaken to a special power and explore a supernatural place called Metaverse/Mementos - born from humanity's subconscious desires. They eventually form a secret vigilante group called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and steal malevolent intent from the hearts of adults in order to right the evils of society and the injustice inflicted onto them as well as others. While dungeon crawling and exploring these places, you and your party battle enemies known as Shadows (monsters) using manifestations of their psyche known as their Personas (like with the previous games if you’re familiar with the series). The main highlight for me was battling shadows and the interplay between your team mates. For example, if you reach a certain level with a teammate off battle, this can unlock some really handy perks in battle – like one time I was low on health and as the enemy was about to deal the final strike, my team mate pushed me out the way to sacrifice themselves in order to save their leader. This is how awesome this game is because you can create some serious and emotional bonds with your team mates which can even develop to romance. I also enjoyed getting stronger and creating more powerful personas (each with their own useful traits like healing etc.) like the classics Gabriel, Siegfried, Cybele, Alice, Odin, Metatron, Trumpeteer, Lucifer and Yoshitsune (my personal favourite). The game starts off slow but please give it time because it does pick up and get really interesting. I will highly recommend that “you take your time” (even the in game loading times state this) because the game is ridiculously long (not to mention doing other activities too like building up your links with confidantes, studying, fishing, dating etc.) so don’t rush as the game can’t be enjoyed then. Do not fret if you do not complete everything in the first walkthrough (common with Persona games) because it is almost impossible due to the games in built time management system. You can actually carry things over to a new game plus, in fact I enjoyed the second walkthrough more as I discovered new things. So if you love JRPGs games and Japanese culture, then play this awesome game. You do not need to have played the previous entries as they all have their own unique stories. This is a game that needs to be played and experienced to those who call themselves gamers. I would recommend getting the Royale version because of the additional perks (a shame this wasn’t included as an add on with the original) because you will be getting more than your money’s worth. A 10/10 game and I will look forward to Persona 6 when it comes out.

First of all, let me say, this is not just a video game, it is an experience and Ken Levine (game director) is a freaking genius. Now with that out of the way, this is my favourite game of all time and believe me, I played a lot of games during my life time e.g. Uncharted, MGS, Last of Us etc. I never thought Infinite could surpass the first bioshock game but it certainly did in so many ways. Infinite has a great and innovative narrative, full of plot twists along with morally based decisions and political dimensions. The gameplay is brilliant and fun too. The voice acting is at its finest too, by the likes of bona fide leading voice actor Troy Baker. The graphics and presentation of Columbia is just pure beautiful. I can still vividly recall looking and admiring the attention to detail given to the clouds and pieces of propaganda posters lying around the city etc. However, the real stand out point of the game for me, was the main characters Booker and Elizabeth and their interplay during battles as well as their deepening relationship throughout the game. The AI is a thing of genius and Elizabeth really helps out during tough battles/non-battles (e.g. help finding ammo) - she almost doesnt feel like a videogame or combat character, but of a companion and you almost feel protective of her too, creating a familial bond. Perhaps you have heard of the infamous ending of the game and there has been many interpretations/discussions which is open to debate. I certainly have my own interpretation along with everyone else. I can still remember playing the ending numerous times, looking and hoping for an alternative and I sometimes still think about that ending to this day (this is the emotional power certain games can have on gamers). I do not want give out any spoilers because this is something you must experience yourself and would hate to ruin it for anyone. This is a game that must be played by all future generations in order to appreciate the art of gaming, so "would you kindly" play this awesome game. This game will invoke all kinds of different emotions and there is something quite beautiful about this game, it really makes you think/feel. I do hope they make more bioshock games in the future but then again, I doubt another bioshock game will ever create a flurry of emotions like Infinite did with me. This is because Bioshock Infinite is just perfect and perhaps a new game may not surpass it - I think I would rather retain the memories that I experienced with Infinite instead, so I am not overly fussed if a new game is made or not. Apologies in advance for the long review but I felt I needed to express myself in this case and I hardly write reviews. To sum up, a 10/10 game and so much more.

I never knew and was surprised a movie was made about PM Narendra Modi. It’s a good thing that’s this movie is swept under the carpet because this is truly a terrible movie and one of the worst (or the worst) of all times, clearly a propaganda movie for the BJP and Modi, during his run for the election. Poorly acted and directed, especially by actor Vivek Oberoi (poor career choice and a good example of being miscast - can’t blame him as he hasn’t made a good movie in awhile). In addition, when biopic movies are made, that person usually has done something great in their lives or something good/honourable. Modi is far from that in real life. This movie almost feels comical and like a parody in a way. There is a scene in the movie about the 2002 riots which sadly left many dead and Modi was portrayed as a hero for stopping the riots. This is far from the truth and in reality, Modi was widely believed to be the instigator behind the riots and was condemned for this. There’s a infamous interview where Modi was questioned about this by a decent journalist. If another movie/documentary was made about Modi, at least be honest and not blatantly lie such as by focusing on his corruption, farmers protest and right wing radicalism etc. Do not watch and avoid, this is clearly a hagiographical movie which tries to insult the viewers intelligence/knowledge via distortion and fiction. I would give it 0 stars if I could. This movie is only for the ardent and right wing Modi supporters (and perhaps Modi himself).
