Never before have I read anything by any writer that so well captures and perfectly describes the feelings of love and desire and hope that are pushed down so deeply by societal standards but persist nonetheless. Aciman gives words to the emotions that are impossible to describe. This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read and will certainly be reading again.
