I have been a science fiction fanatic forever. This one is very disjointed. It is "On The Beach" in space. Too much soap opera talk to fill the 2 hours. It sort of skips around with a bit of space drama from "Gravity". However, it never creates the terror of space debris as "Gravity" does. "On The Beach" has nuclear fallout eventually propagating to the Southern Hemisphere where the story takes place. As in this old movie, the US submarine commanded by Gregory Peck decides to take his crew back home and certain death. It happens in Midnight Sky as well with none of the emotional drama. I blame the author for getting all the material from earlier movies and novels. The paradise planet the couple returns to is also a rip from another old movie, "When Worlds Collide". At least it was free if you subscribe to Netflix
