Some of the most unsatisfying and illogical scripting I’ve ever had to endure. Idris Elba is excellent, as usual, but the scriptwriters put him in situations where his actions or failure to act in a rational way are intensely aggravating.

Episodes are massively overlong and riddled with maddening errors in the storylines and courtroom procedure. The writing is terrible in both plot development and dialogue. Some decent acting on the part of a few actors but the cast and character development are all too often mediocre or too prone to wild histrionics. Don’t bother to waste your time or money when there are so many better crime and courtroom dramas on BBC and Acorn.

An excellent concept unevenly realized. One can accept some very unlikely premises such as parallel universes and identifying unknown viruses and coming up with a cure in a matter of a few hours and still enjoy the series but there a number of episodes that require such contortions of logic and the laws of basic science that it makes one cringe! Nevertheless, there are some excellent plot lines and generally good production values and it’s always a pleasure to watch Leonard Nimoy!
