I think actual people mostly enjoyed the movie, despite the media outrage . Odd that I didn't see the outrage over allowing Kate Hudson to play the role of an addict, and not having an actual addict play that part.
Maybe bc it's a movie, so it's odd to have just normal people cast simply bc they share something with the character.
Even in the Temple Grandin story, the person with autism was playing by an actress! (Amazing movie as well)
Temple Grandin was about a real person with autism, who also discovered she was calmed by being locked into a cattle chute. Where is the outrage?
I think the outrage is all from people who have no real experience and want to be outraged on behalf of people who are fine!
