I am 62yo and have watched this movie so many times I cannot count. Absolutely comedy genius. I have had gut-wrenching laughter every time watching it - singing along with the songs (Man of Constant Sorrows)(Keep on the Sunny Side of Life) . . . even my dog howls along. Never knew that Clooney could be so funny. Tim and John complimented the writing. It takes me back to growing up on the farm in the deep south. I want my $10 for singing in the Tin Can . . . whoever came up with the scrip should be paid DOUBLE. MUST WATCH MOVIE.

Watched this movie today. The Black & White cinematography is quite exceptional. The drama is real and jumps off the screen. I still find it to be a bizarre slavery period peice. The racist language and overtones are very raw. Hard for me to watch the whole movie.

Wonderful moving movie. Being a former Marine, I shed a tear at the funeral service. Extremely well written and the scenes flowed with comical carelessness. Will definitely recommend it to my marine corps comrades
