Clarkson described this as a 'love letter to farming'. A more apt title would be 'a love letter to rural life' since for anyone who grew up rurally, that's exactly what it is. Every character (read: person) in this show is someone you know, someone who reminds you of an old friend. And yes it can sometimes wear wondering what of Clarksons apparent ineptitude is organic and which is planted. But if you let his hijinks blind you to the emotionality with which this show was made and the pressing message behind it, you are missing out on a truely great story.
