#Electrians.Evening Team.I agree that clients should not be ripped off. However some statements are also not correct in terms of pricing and will create a false perception that all clients are over charged even if I only add 15% mark up on items. You state that a 10 Amp or 20 Amp circuit breaker costs R 43 rand. Before you stated that, you should have answered the following questions: 1) Is this a Din Rail Mount Board Or Samite Board? Din Rail Are cheaper that Samite. Din rail Circuit Breakers cost me as an electrical contractor between R 58 - R 89 per breaker, depending on the brand the client have installed; Samite CBI breakers start at R 129 per breaker and that is a 3 kA rating. 6 kA rating more costly. Also the earth leakage price. Again the same questions. A CBI 30 mA 63 Amp Earth Leakage Unit with No Overload protection cost me as an contractor R 799. Bearing in mind these prices are ex VAT.I pay a annual fee to the ECB.I pay my DOL fees.I pay my insurance costs ( defective workmanship and public liability),I issue a C.O.C on every component replaced in an electrical installation as per the Law as I alter the characteristics of the installation.Should you wish to report, do so but do not state incorrect information to the public. As stated we may not charge more than 20% mark up. Fair enough. I know for a fact that suppliers get less 45% from the manufacturer and yet we still pay recommended retail price. So who then steal the clients money? So the suppliers then make 45% profit were as we only 20%.So please revise your comments on the pricing of the components as this will lead to clients stating that Carte Blanche stated it should cost so much and so much.Thank you
