I just watched the movie "Maharaja," starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by the rising talent Nithilan. I was speechless after watching it; it’s one of the best thrillers I've seen, keeping me hooked from start to finish. I bet you, after 5-10 minutes, you won't touch your phone and won't want to miss a single scene. One of the best parts of the movie is its brilliant storytelling, with twists and plots unfolding every few minutes, taking you on an unforgettable thriller ride.
Vijay Sethupathi, as always, knocked it out of the park with his performance. I think this is one of his best performances since "Vikram Vedha." This movie isn't just a film; it's an experience that sets a new benchmark for thrillers. For the first time, I witnessed a surprise twist at the interval that had the audience clapping in the theater. Even Anurag Kashyap delivered a mind-blowing performance, doing justice to his role.
I traveled a long way to watch this movie as it had limited screenings, initially available in Telugu and Tamil. But with its positive response, the makers have brought it in Hindi as well, so I expect it will get more screens soon.
Bollywood really needs to pull up its socks. If Kollywood and other South Indian film industries start releasing their movies pan-India in Hindi, Bollywood could lose its dominance. Instead of spending heavily on marketing and promotions, Bollywood needs to focus more on story, content, and direction.
Don't miss watching this movie in the theatre.
