From an animation standpoint, the entire film is breathtaking. The visuals and layout of each scene is captivating. There are lots of little pokemon easter eggs scattered around, like signs, posters, etc. The way the pokemon looked in the film was just as amazing. When you think about realistic looking pokemon, you would usually imagine nightmare fuel or the pokemon matching the animal/object it's based on. But the film stuck to the disproportionate body shapes and followed the original designs. The cute pokemon were cute, the tough pokemon looked tough, and the intimidating pokemon were downright scary.
I thought this movie was going to be similar to that of a reboot, but it was so much more. The only downside I saw in the movie was the limited number of pokemon models there were. In some scenes, there were crowds of people with only Treecko, Sneezel, and Growlithe by them. But I understand that making the models and shading them is a nightmare so I don't really mind. If they decide to make more live action pokemon movies, I would love to see how many pokemon they can bring to life!
