Much better than expected. The previous Transformers movies were standard CGI more is less rubbish which is why we were going to watch something else. As our first choice was sold out we checked the reviews for the alt options and they seemed pretty kind to Bumblebee so we gave it a punt. It felt more like an 80's Spielberg work, character driven, less frantic and with bucketfuls of sentiment and some laughs for good measure. I enjoyed the nostalgic element and the action wasn't sacrificed entirely, just not constant in every scene. The kids enjoyed it loads too so it did the job nicely! 4/5 from us
