The movie is wildly problematic, and the fact is, the premises just doesn't stand up to modern day scrutiny. The charm of the first two home alone films (which has not been repeated in the following four sequels) is that thr main character (Kevin) is a victim who steps up to the plate and defends his home and himself against some bad people. The problem with this version, is the main character is just so unlikeable and the villains of the piece, well quite frankly are not villains. In fact, you actually want Mac to get his comeuppance, and route for the home invaders. The script is full of holes, it's predictable and puerile even small children are bored by fart humour in 2021. Disney should've left well alone. Seriously, you will not enjoy this film, in fact the only saving grave is that isnshows what a competent and talented actress Aisling Bea is!
