A gently-paced, beautifully nuanced and powerful story of love, regret and compromise.

This show was was immediately engaging as its cast is excellent, with undeniable chemistry particularly between the two male leads. Steve Carell displays his range in a hyperbolic yet measured performance and his character is by turns brave, crazy, foolish and wise. The writing and pace are relentless and jokes are in plentiful supply but there are moments granted us to draw breath. Unlike so many other productions of this polish and star power, a subtle and nuanced approach has been taken by the writers and directors; the few sets are glossy but believable and we are never told what to think or feel. Fantastic show about space, bureaucracy and love. Bring on season 2!
