Breathtaking. Luminous, reverberating, yet crisp prose with not a word wasted. Deep, enrapturing characters and characterization that I have seen in this author’s other books, but here with far more poeticism and economy of words. The romance was one of the best I’ve ever read, and unusual too, starting early and deepening in subtle bumps. The settings were thought-out with truly satisfying and richly colored detail.
Not a complaint, but I was confused (though emotionally satisfied) by the ending until I looked up the meaning of the main characters’ names, which gave both setting and romance yet another layer of depth.
