I only watched the first episode but this show must cater to the incredibly naive and uneducated.. They people on the show may think they're in love but falling in love with someone who has been institutionalized for a long time and who you really don't know outside of prison walls is a recipe for disaster. Most people leave prison worse off than they were before they got there as you're surrounded with the scum of society 24x7. Right off the bat, I see huge red flags. A gold digger, a manipulator, a plastic girl, and they're all dumb as a rock. The emphasis should be on getting to know each other in real life first and then maybe marriage can happen.
Things they need to think about which I haven't seen much attention devoted to yet: How is the ex con going to get a decent paying job? Are the underlying issues that landed them in prison gone? More often than not, they are psychological issues that aren't easily overcome. It's easy to fall in love when you're alone and have no one else. What happens when the felon suddenly has the whole world at their disposal and aren't dependent on you anymore? Are they still going to be faithful? So many unknowns, so the idea of marriage right away is just ludicrous.
