I saw this movie with a friend almost a month back. We both thought that it was okay, not terrible, but not good either. It was still worth the $10 ticket to watch just to kill time. Thinking back on it though, the main character throughout the movie comes off as a Mary Sue kind of character. The action sequences were fun, but the overall message the movie sends was nothing too spectacular. The character seemed like your typical rebellious, teen-like personality that was just having her power trip after being told that she was always this great person and that she could do anything. The writing was just mediocre. This may honestly have been a Michael Bay film without the effort to write a REAL story. Make no mistake, there were parts of the movie where the story could have been made even more dynamic, but the opportunities were not taken.
I guess in the end, the rumors where some of the current social toxicity in our society leaked into the movie was true. The movie wasn't terrible, but it was not good either.
