My mom is in a lovely/high end assisted living facility. I don't think the show truly portrays the sadness & loneliness the elders experience. I visit 3 times a week, and little does my mom know how much I bring to the other residents who have little to no visitors. A simple view out the window is so meaningful to them. I try to bring joy & laughter to all that I encounter there. Many 75+ year olds have lost their partners, and they do not have the spirit of those on this show. I wish they did! I also wish I could help the writers with finding jokes about Depends, booster pads, cleaning up poop! I have to laugh about those nuances that I've been dealing with for 6yrs. It's sad, but sometimes really hilarious when there is a wonderful team in assisted living. I've had some great chuckles with the amazing staff!
