Disappointing. This book could have been so much more given the timeliness of the release. Unfortunately entirely missed the mark on addressing the current issues of our racialized world. We really should give our children more credit and use real words to describe real problems. It can be done in an age appropriate way without minimizing. There's no need to create minimizing language where language already exists. It's called racism and we should be teaching anti racism, not being purple. The divisiveness Bell was attempting to address is not a matter of differences, but morality. There is no spectrum when it comes to humanity. Really came across more as a self esteem or self confidence building book than anything else.
