It was Sergio Leon's experimental flick before his masterpiece "Once Upon A Time In America". "Fistful" was not as great as that seminal flick, but is more than worth exploring.

It was the walls of children and Goth atmosphere that got this 2 stars.

This is a difficult movie to watch, which makes it even more worthwhile. Great flick. It kinda reminds me if Freud and Camus sat down and wrote a movie screenplay. So atmospheric, and very watchable.

I'm just so glad that we can watch movies like this to get us culturally attuned. It's simply amazing what Ireland has had to go thru; yet so many don't even think of the stereotypes, but accept everyone. It's time for us Americans to find special flicks like this, which affirm the whole world so very interesting.

Everything some of us want from a movie - history, conflicting characters, a perfect script, and tons of love and care. Plus I've never seen a Daniel Lewis movie that wasn't good. I would go so far as to include "There Will Be Blood" as a top 100 movie of All time. Daniel's character personified thru the decades and America's rise as influential Country was done thoughtfully and historically accurate.

Isn't it something that the great Poiter and Harry B. passed away in their 90's and only a year or so apart? What great entertainers. This is the kinda flick us teens loved to watch from the upper balcony of the Downtown movie theater. As we got older, we watched again, and picked up on more of the comedy and acting nuances.

Watching Harry and Poiter is always a treat. In a time when the cinema was making so many great films, this simple Western is a little undiscovered gem. Very good characters from both the good and bad side, never sappy, and good direction and camera work.

Every single minute of this movie meant something. A moving mix of history and film.

It's awfully hard to make a true yet entertaining movie of a Dickens book. McLean did it twice with the terrific "Great Expectations" and then with "Oliver Twist". Not a minute is wasted in both films, and both bring out the horrible poverty and ignorance of that poverty that Charles D. presented to us, never preachy or self-righteous. Everything one wants in cinema, from the moving storyline to the simply awesome sets and cinematography.
