Bayonetta 3 is a game that I highly recommend newcomers to try out. It has over the top action and combat that the Bayonetta series is known for. The game offers a great balance of fast paced action and light hearted comedy, as well as an investing story with a serious take on the classic "Save the world from an unknown evil" trope. The visuals have also received an upgrade in terms of animation, character design, world building and spectical. With a new look comes new weapons, Bayonetta 3 doesn't shy from unique and engaging weapon choices to change up your approach to combat which offers a new way of stringing together combos to get a more flashy finish. The game also has two new mechanics to go with Bayonetta's trademark "Stylized combat". The former being "Demon Masquerade" which takes a somewhat new take on Bayonetta's classic wicked weave from past installments, but with a unique twist to add some flair between attacks, And the ladder being the "Demon Slave" which allows Bayonetta to take full control of her demons and attack enemies with their own set of combos. When done probably, these two new additions can add a new and familiar way to really style on enemies that crosses your path. Bayonetta 3 also introduces a new character named Viola, a mysterious witch in training to help take down this world ending threat. Like Bayonetta, Viola has her own fighting style in the form of her katana, throwing darts and her demon familiar Cheshire. While a bit unorthodox for a Bayonetta game, Viola's fighting style still has that similar feeling of stringing together combos, landing witch time and fast paced action. All-in-all I Bayonetta 3 is an action packed, combo heavy, thrilling experience and I can't wait to see what platinum games does with the series going forward.
9/10.
