I think this film would do well to return to the big screen as a prequel so that William Jackson can be seen in action. This might serve to fill in a few gaps in the story. It was really well acted and some cinematography was acceptably good although a little better connectivity between scenes might have been welcomed. There was a broad and well-balanced narrative even though harsh. Great musical score and well-used unoriginal songs to help define the mood of each scene. The dialogue is interesting but rather on the technical side. It may be necessary to see this film several times before making sense of its true direction.

This is a diamond among movies. There is little or nothing to compete with its kind-hearted and sweet nature. A story Guy de Maupassant's "La Parure" would mirror. There are elements of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Ratatouille and deep down this is a serious psychological play with a moral. Love is at the heart of the screenplay and each scene is rich in beauty and colour. An outstanding acting role sustained by Mrs Harris (Lesley Manville) plus comprehensive supporting roles wholeheartedly administered with grace and polish. Great score (Rael Jones) - End titles to die for! Fantastic costume designer, photographer, producers and directed with indelible humour. This is a film worthwhile in every sense!

Great camera work and artfully written dialogue. The beginning read like a book and then the Main Title sequence was short. Chemistry between actors was evident and there was real promise; it began like a family film. I believe many teenagers will be inspired by this kind of narrative to write imaginative stories. Some beautiful animals were used, an eagle and very well trained horses. There was a human element of psychology but this was equally very "monkey" as they poked fun at us! Some action scenes were too violent, long and quite severe. This may be disturbing for a ten year old or younger child. The story generally flowed but was unnecessarily paused on occasions, saying that, it gave plenty of time for reflection and this makes for a strong calibre of film.

This was the best TV show ever. Please come back!!!

There was uniqueness in the plot. A good narrative with surprising twists and turns. Each actor gave 100%. The music in the background was applicable and well chosen for its dramatic nature. I felt overall the film was marred by too much non necessary violent acts and heavy duty accidents. It pains me when dreams can be often sweet.

A really happy film with a glow and spark. It is a rocky mountain ride in places and fabulously well edited. Some incredible special effects too. Any 10 year old will be well initiated into the world of cinema following Herbie from Paris to Monte Carlo. All adults and children love the romance.

This film is good, a plot with many sub-plots and a well worth watching at least twice. Beyond the slap stick humour there are strong feelings especially in the two songs which are enough only because they are two 99/100 scoring songs both meaningful and really well writwritten. This is a masterpiece of Disney.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button who does not actually live backwards but ages backwards. This is strange as he becomes a baby but also starts out as a baby who is freakishly wrinkled and old...and inbetween he experiences various stages of manhood and boyhood all in the wrong order. Not bad as an experimental film. There is much left unsaid and regardless of the way the story unfolds it is the powerful feeling of appreciation for one's own life which really rings loudly in this film.

A brilliant musical. It ought to be a West End show one day. 6 year old to 90 you will love this. Oompa song is well reprised from 1971 and the colour, story, music and cinematic art is splendid.

Robert Bernard Sherman and Richard Morton Sherman win two academy awards: Best Score and 'Chim Chim Cheree', Best Song. The best artwork is a special effect as we jump into a chalk pavement picture and the movie made an academy award for Best Special Effects. Julie Andrews worked very hard on Mary Poppins and deserved her academy award for Best Actress in 1965. The narrative is interesting and quick changing, editing was well done and took the 5th academy award. Dick Van Dyke, our eccentric narrator is constantly reappearing as a different tradesman and most of the time we get fascinated by the film's colourful imagination. Music and artwork are strong.
