This drama wouldn’t intrigue you from the first 2 episodes except for the liveliness of it. It felt flat as if something is missing.
When I was done I said to myself,”whaaat???”
However if you read the plot of the drama with an open mind; this drama has everything.
And it does, the actors of the drama reflects the quality of the drama.
I reckon this drama has more under its sleeves than you think.
This drama is suppose to burst you with refreshing, comical, loving and fuzzy goodness.
This doesn’t ,mean it’s going to be flat.
It’s definitely because it didn’t give us any drama- in the first two episodes- to be hooked onto as Ji Chang Wook normally delivers in his dramas. It’s a build up process..
His last drama was a bit disappointing, although forgiving since he just came back from the military plus the director and writer didn’t also execute the plot well. I call that “a warm up drama” to get him back to his grove.
Now he’s back!
BACKSTREET ROOKIE has many elements than we think. It’s not going to be flat. It’s going to deliver a proper slice-of-life as the genre says. Together with the slice of life, it is comforted with rom-com to make you feel warm and refreshed.
It’s going to be a REALLY GOOD DRAMA. The two leads are a force to be reckon with and we know it. The director is also superb and we know it.
You can’t underestimate them...That’s facts
I AM DONE WATCHING THIS DRAMA
I will say, I expected more. The drama is a bit too flat. The drama had capable writers, director and ACTORS to do more
With that being said I still liked it because it was light and calm and I got to see Ji Chang Wook.
I wouldn’t have picked this drama if it weren’t for the actors and the director-truth be told .
