wow, such a wonderful, feel good movie. The acting was superb, as you would expect from anything with Angela Basset, Arquette, & Huffman. They are super-pros and it showed. But, look out for Afton Williamson, she absolutely stole the show. I will be looking for anything she does from now on. Yes, its a bit campy and not so deep. But, it reminds me of a movie I saw with my sons many years ago - Under the Tuscan Sun. Its a movie that you expect to be boring and offer very little in the way of entertainment and then it grabs you and you can't let it go. I started watching during my lunch break. I thought maybe it can play while I eat and check my phone - you know, let the TV watch me and keep me company. I tried to turn it off at least a dozen times - I mean how long does it take to eat lunch? And, I just couldn't. I just had to know how it ended. I got invested in the lives of these 3 women, their sons, and their significant others. At the end, it felt so good. I wished that I could have that life. And, then I realized that I can, and I will. This movie appears to be light and silly but its deeply touching and affectionate. I applaud Netflix and the producers for having the courage to make this movie in a world where Marvel and superheros dominate. Yes, I love Marvel, superheroes, action, adventure, and I love this movie. If you are a mother, or a father, if you have children or want to have children, if you are a grandparent, this is a must see.
