*I have not read or bought this book and have no intention of doing so. I just wish to warn the public about what I see as potentially misleading scholarship*
The photo on the front cover is NOT a photo of Tsar Nicholas II. The photo on the front cover is a photo of Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich, Jr. who was a first cousin once removed of the Tsar. I find that if the author/publisher isn't even going to bother putting a picture of Tsar Nicholas II on the front cover of a book about Tsar Nicholas II that anyone thinking about buying this book should at least be skeptical of its value as a source of authentic information. If such lack of care is going into creating a first impression with a reader, as that is what a front cover is supposed to do, then it doesn't likely bode well for any of the information inside as it is likely to be equally lacking in care and scholarly diligence.
Also it doesn't help that the two capitalized letter i's " II " which are stand-ins for the roman numeral short hand of "the second" is written as " Ii " in the google preview for this book with one being capitalized and the other in lower case when both are supposed to be capitalized. It's not a huge error, but it's a basic little mistake which I feel is likely indicative of the quality of information this book provides given the aforementioned wrong photograph issue that sets something of a precedent for careless problems.
If you want information about Tsar Nicholas II which isn't highly suspect I'd recommend going to his Wikipedia page and donating any money you would have spent on this book to Wikipedia instead. At least then you know it's going to a good cause.
