This movie is about a very simple, and a very common practice in Asia which makes this film a very powerful and must watch movie if only to learn this old and dehumanizing practice. The inability of the poor to marry or love the members of the rich and elite group. I myself witnessed this in my own birth country (Philippines) and it's not a pleasant one. This movie is a very engaging one. I was more compelled by the cynicism of Ashwin yet deep down he's a very kind and morally upright and stopped at nothing to pursue the woman she loves even if it means opposing his very country's formidable culture and practice. I can't wait for its sequel.

It's a very extraordinary part of our life to understand and respect how others choose to live. Will and Tom, father and daughter opted to live away from the conforming ways of life dictated by a society and laws. What made me cry a lot is the very strong bonding of a father and a daughter to live by themselves without being constrained by the inconvenience of not having any electricity, running water, much less heat and a house that offers comfort and shelter. A most engaging and extraordinary life ti be in bond with nothing but the abundance of the wilderness. I can watch it over and over again. Thomasin MacKenzie and Ben Foster are so true in their portrayal of a story thats is based from a real life experience.
