One of the greatest films of all time. Brilliant writing, brilliant acting and superb cinematography.
Whilst the film is graphic and disturbing it lets us into the minds of tormented souls in a way that makes you feel the insecurities, pain and suffering that Nina feels and that we all feel in our search for meaning in our lives.
Whilst at a superficial level Nina seems to be mentally ill and maybe mad, I think that this madness is really the writers way of communicating the frightening, ambiguous and complicated way we all see the world from inside our own minds.
Nina isn't mad she's just human like the rest of us. We all make mountains out of molehills, we all have our own obsessions, fears and longings and if you don't feel a love for her as a complicated and tragic and ultimately very human then you are a very unusual human being.
