This show tried so hard to be emotional and suspenseful but it failed, miserably, for me. All the scenes where I was supposed to feel for the characters just did not have that effect on me. The show was somewhat successful at building suspense sometimes, but that tiny moment of suspense dwindled very quickly and the show returned to its regular boring rhythm where it just felt like two privileged white ladies going around destroying things and being mean to people.
That being said, I absolutely could not like nor relate to the two main characters. The bond between them was confusing and not well-explained nor well-explored. Jen was a privileged white woman who was incredibly rude and mean to everybody (even those who were trying to help her). I understand the show was trying to depict her as an angry widow but the trick here is to make her likable and relateable and the show failed to do this. Judy, on the other hand, was a very confusing character - like is she remorseful about what she did? Is she sad about it? Is she genuinely trying to make things better for Jen or just pretending to? And this was not the kind of confusion that keeps you curious for more - it was the kind of confusion that made you give up on the character.
