Borat is brilliant. The guy strikes a hilarious chord.
But what concerns me about Borat is his insensitivity to the generosity and goodwill of average Americans. They invite him into their homes under false pretenses. Then, he turns around and ridicules them publicly for their conservative, but good faith views.
As a secular leftist, I share Borat's conviction that Holocaust deniers should be taken to task. But having grown up in Middle America, I do not share his sentiment that the average American is stupid and uncaring. That's what comes across in the film.
