If you're not familiar with the French comic book, you'll probably think this movie is disjointed; the storyline lacks flow/follow through. I know I did. It seemed choppy, and maybe poorly edited where I had to put pieces together that I feel should have been more clearly explained as the movie progressed - the timeline being the most confusing to me: which supporting characters had become 'older' from the earlier part of the story.
Yet, that being said, I was fascinated with how our Frontier life was viewed by the French from the point of a comic book. I was also curious as to how the "ayahuasca ceremony" played into the story. I bought the dvd and have watched it numerous times even sharing it with friends. It was not a waste of money nor time. Just drop any preconceived ideas of how it SHOULD be when you watch.
