I read the book earlier this year and must say that it was absolutely beautiful. It is a must read for anyone who struggles with forgiveness (both for others and for themselves), and I intend to read it multiple times throughout my life.
I was pleased to that see that the audiobook was available, but disappointed when I tried to listen to it. It is evident that the male voice actor (not Desmond Tutu) is not South African, but tries to do his best impression of a South African accent when reading Desmond Tutu’s parts, as well as attempting to do various accents and voices when speaking as people from various countries E.g. America and Palestine. It sounds like Mpho (who is a voice actor as well as the co-author) also attempts to do a different accent at times, but comes off as quite monotone and flat.
I found the audiobook off- putting and comical at times, and for me, it unfortunately takes away from the beautiful content of the book.
I would highly recommend the written book over the audiobook.
