Hilarious. Never seen this movie before when it came out. Fast pace. Matthau as usual is convincing. Goldie Hawn's coming out film already displays her talent. Miss Bergman is excellent.

The castle is fabulous. Elke's constant screaming could be at times irritating. The eerie ambience give it a really gothic feel.

Not being much a fan of rock music, i did not expect to hear anything outrageous esp in the mid 70s watching it for first time on wide screen. This movie turned out to a visual treat for the senses with the direction of Ken Russel. Revisiting this classic a third time is really entertaining.

Ever since I first saw this classic played on tv in the late 70s in S.F. where I was living then I loved it instantly-it's production esp it's music and oppulence. I now have 2 copies: a blu ray & the regular copy. I love both Nancy Kwan & Juanita Hall especially the song number Chop Suey. Its originality is inspiring and unusual for a Rodger/Hammerstein musical in that period

Very high adventure. It helps that the casts were well chosen. Dahlia Lavi is stunning. I love the exotic setting. I first saw this as a very young film buff and has never forgotten it until I found the DVD 3 years ago.
