Frustratingly bad decisions which is just a sign of bad writing. to be fair, the actors did well with the material they were given but script really let the movie down, opting to dumb down everyone for the sake of moving story along and get the kill counter up...it all just makes the characters unlikeable in the end. Itll do for a random movie night, but a far cry from what I would consider good

I can understand both sides of the rating here, its definitely not for everyone, but I found the horror elements quite suspenseful, not high on jump scares but atmosphere was on point. The narrative structure is non-conventional which I think threw some people off, but I thought it was quite well executed. Story could have done with more fleshing out which would have really elevated it overall, but the suspense of who the antagonist was at the start was quite a ride. Acting was great, just let down with some decent but not fantastic script writing, but acting, directing and cinematography I rate full points. The themes explored I interpreted as exploring the types of evil - nature, nurture, and opportunity and to some extent circumstance which again reading the comments seem like confused a couple of people. Probably as far as I can go without spoiling anything, but honestly I thought it was quite a good movie. Just could have had a bit more of a developed story to explore the characters more and scripting more believable reactions (ie the cops). Wont win an oscar, but I finished the film quite satisfied as a horror enthusiast

I thought the leading of the audiences perception was quite well done. If you took yourself out of the movie and thought about your clues you may have seen through a lot already but when your sitting down and just enjoying the immersion of it all its actually a nice little ride. Its not as atmospheric as the conjuring or paranormal activity, though the typical horror tropes are present, the story is still told well enough with some decent visuals to help it along. As a horror fan I would give it a 3 out 5, as a movie fan 4 out 5 cause I still quite enjoyed it. Its by no means a bad movie, but its by no means anything groundbreaking or truly memorable.
