I read and loved the books, and love the original 1978 TV version. The new one is good but strays quite far from the original stories. Mrs Hall character seems far too young, and do I detect a hint of some romantic attraction between she and the older Mr Farnon? The acting is good, sets are great, the Dales are lovely, but the veterinary scenes are clumsy and way overly dramatic. I'm enjoying the series but to be honest, its only a shadow of the 1978 version.
