Good idea, but a bit too unfocused. There are elements that are great on their own for separate titles, but together they are too disjointed to enjoy. I think the story should be shortened to just focus on Rosie Perez's character and Harley! This would make the movie epic! This would mean getting rid of the backstories for all the other characters; leaving more room to connect with Harley and her emancipation!

It's not The Shining and the Kubrick tried to give the only black role from the book to a white guy. And he never even read King's screenplay and called King's writing weak. Jack Nicholson did a great job in the movie, because he's a brilliant actor! He made this movie; without Jack this movie is a B movie at best. Jack's improvisation and writing made this movie a classic!
