If you're a gamer who's been spoiled with next gen console visuals, or anyone who's never been interested in Avatar movie back in 2009, don't waste your time.
Is it emotional? The most emotional part for me was when they showed the detailed whale hunting process. That is the only part where I felt immense loathing and distress caused by the actors who did a great job potraying the cruelty of the practice.
The movie felt like a long documentary of life in another place, another time, and another species. Action are mostly clinical and did not have any further motive than revenge. Since I did not watch the first movie, I don't really think the revenge was a strong enough motivation to sort of clone yourself as another species and set out on a long journey to deliver justice to deserters.
And 80mio USD for a small tube of whale brain is poor business calculation.
