Legacies is a great spin off from the originals as it focuses more on the life of Hope Mikaelson as she grows up and faces her own challenges and obstacles in the world. I enjoy that diversity and variety of characters, which is a huge difference from the foundational branch from which the show sprang from- Vampire Diaries. I would like to see more characterization out of the MJ as I feel like his leadership abilities are not as well rounded as they could be. As he remains the character that pushes the team spirit throughout the show, he should be given more recognition for his contribution. Even though the show is about Hope, I would hate to see the show fall into the same trap it did with the Vampire Diaries by focusing too much on the sadness within Hope as it was done with Elena. Hope is a complex character, and more emphasis should be placed on her ability to navigate those difference rather than trying to live up to her fathers, Niklaus Mikaelson, legacies. Sidenote: The marketing materials for the show via social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook) are not used to keep viewers up to date on the latest release. For example, the episode 10 of season was postponed from its original start date, Jan. 27. This should be made apparent on social media for viewers as it was not.
