a sort of conventional romeo and Juliet esque Bildungsroman story is elevated by Mishima’s acute attention to detail, symbolism, and poetic prose.It’s setting, themes,and development compliment each other invariably down to the last page. Beautiful and heartwarming in every way. A perfect display of Mishima’s early talent and a great start to an illustrious career.
