I liked this game for the first bunch of hours I played it, but seeing only 3 weapons with lame add ons, and that they found a way to have finding items suck, since almost everything is blind with many including a blind trade off...as a rogue like it's not very good in that department.
The gameplay is very fun and the game is challenging, but getting minor benefits with negative trade offs doesn't really make it feel like a rogue like or rogue lite to me. Part of the fun is having a crazy set of items and this game is part rogue like but also includes progression, but doesn't have the fun in itemization like Hades does. Hades also has instances of trade offs for later benefits, but it is just handled way better.
This game also tries to present a story but in 12 hours of play I learned next to nothing about the world, the main character and it feels like the ending is just going to be some unexplained Lost sort of thing that will just be a let down just to preserve needless mystery.
It's an awesomely polished game so I can't rate it low, but I would not recommend it to other players and after twelve hours, I didn't think the item system was all that good or interesting. So it gets a couple knocks for that. You either love this game or don't care about it. It might be a great game but a lot of people will never find out.
