Fells like it was written by an NRI for 80s television.
Making a satirical show about immigrant stereotypes and still making it funny is super hard (Fresh off the boat is a great example). But this show is neither satirical nor funny. It feeds into the age old stereotype of what India is as looked through an ignorant American lens. People eating from garbage....really? We're over that Slumdog Millionaire stuff. Let's move on.

I smiled like a fool. I cried like a baby. Every episode was a freaking masterpiece.

What if you take an overused, cliche Hollywood plot line and not make it...... cliche? That's what this film is. A breath of fresh air and thankfully, with no stereotype subplots to weigh it down in any way. Loved it!
