This is a travesty of the Louise Penny books. The characters have been transformed beyond recognition and are almost all either deeply unlikeable or foolish. Gamache is reduced from hero to befuddled, troubled, and incompetent. The plots don’t make sense and are full of unexplained contradictions. The series left a very bad aftertaste.
