The premise is sound enough, but too many convenient coincidences and a one-dimensional performance by Michelle Keegan makes this feel like a weak beach-book thriller. Best moments are from from DCI Sami Kierce and his partner. Btw, one of the dumber endings I’ve been seen. It felt like a typical “American” thriller wrapped in Brit accents to make it seem like we’re watching what makes UK mysteries engaging. But sadly it’s not. This is one I wish I’d skipped.
