Read this book many years ago and am trying to refresh my memory. I enjoyed reading it. I especially like historical novels. My husband is a big Ruark fan and loved all his books about Africa. He compares Ruark and Hemingway as regards their books about Africa.

I read this book after I read JOHN ADAMS and liked that these two books covered the same era with the beginning of our Nation and the settling of Kentucky---a biography that read like a good novel and an exciting and romantic novel with a historical perspective.
