Kudos to the screen play writers for forcing the viewer to become fully immersed in the brutal reality of a life-changing loss of one of your senses. I was glad that there was no moralistic statements on how Ruben lost his hearing; allowing the viewers to make their own conclusion. I would like to have seen a different ending; but in retrospect I connected the dots and wrote my own ending.
