This may be a movie about what the characters choose to ignore, but we, the audience, are too often left in the dark.

Truly dreadful: like a bad student film in its direction and in terms of the performances; in particular, Sheryl Lee's performance is unhinged, but not in a good way. Going into the movie, I was aware of the mythology that had been revealed in the first two seasons of Twin Peaks, but after watching the film, nothing of interest seemed to be added or explained. The tone is depressing, the mood sombre; and there is also not a single character the audience can identify with or root for, making it a hard film to complete. Absolutely not at the same level of Lynch's best work, even if you are a fan of Twin Peaks.
