Peter, whose real name was Simon, became one of Jesus's disciples because he was in hiding from the authorities. Besides, his brother convinced him to follow Jesus, so Simon/Peter couldn't have been first, Paul never even met Jesus in person. Jesus appeared to him not along after his crucifixion.
It wasn't a good question, in my opinion. Well, for one, the order in which the disciples came to follow Jesus didn't have any significance, at least not in the Bible. Andrew really doesn't play a significant role, as far as I know. Only thing about Andrew that I recall is that he was often mistaken for Mary in Michelangelo's "Last Supper." The Church claimed that it was Andrew seated to the left of Jesus, not Mary. Andrew was, supposedly, slight in build and possessed feminine features. Only reason I remember that is that I'm a fan of Dan Brown.
Catholic friends I know didn't know the answer, along with all 3 contestants. I was thinking the author of the first book of the New Testament, but since the category was Catholic I had a feeling that I was incorrect.
