This little book is a simple story about a rather complicated issue which affects all of us at one time or another. It may be seen at first glance as a children's book with its cute little water creatures that can activate the imagination and perhaps tickle some deeper sensitivities, but it's actually for children of ALL ages and all walks of life.
It's about how we tend to get so involved in our day-to-day lives that we think that's all there is. Then at some point, some "Light" shines through and we notice that, perhaps, there's more to life than just the mundane. There is a Spiritual aspect of life that we have to wake up to, and reach for, in order to experience its benefits. It is a story about transition or transformation and many relate it to the experience of physical death and rebirth, but it even goes beyond that.
Most people have a deep underlying fear of death or loss of any kind and these feelings color every aspect of our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. However subtle the underlying feelings may be, we are still affected by them at very deep levels without even realizing it.
The Parable of the Mayfly is intended to encourage hope and faith that there is a Higher Power at work for all of us and even though it works for us, by working through us, individually, we shall all attain enlightenment. No one is ever lost. The Truth is that there can be no death, because the reality of us is Life! Life cannot die, it only changes form.
"The Parable of the Mayfly is a story of faith in the world of possibilities even when we're standing in the middle of deep grief and loss. You will feel inspired to believe again." Martha Randolph Carr, nationally syndicated columnist and author of A Place to Call Home.
"This is a story of everyday life. Not only the transition from this life to another but the way we transform in every moment . It's a perfect example of our process and truly comforts my heart." A. J. Lee, author of Car-Relations
