I mostly wrote a review because I saw so many other reviews that pissed me off. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the show overall was okay. I have no problem with the title being addressed to white people. (I'm white) In fact, that is the reason I decided to watch it. I've seen many movies, shows, clips on youtube, displaying what POC go through. Some of these reviews disgust me saying: " This show disregards white people", "It's not fair that all white people are seen as a bad person", "Well it's not white privilege if the person worked for it and other people don't" First until our world actually don't have white privilege, then we can say white people work just as hard. Clearly, that isn't the case. White people can say "How would you know I have white privilege" As much as I and many others hate it and shouldn't even be a thing, every white person has white privilege. That means getting a job is easier, DRIVING WITH LOUD MUSIC is easier. POC have to worry about their moms, dads, uncles, brothers, their family going out to run an errand and getting pulled over and shot for NO. FRICKING. REASON. So white people, you tell me how many white men do you know that have died due to a policeman who took it a few thousand steps too far?...No? What about having a gun pulled on you or someone you know for what getting in a fight that escalated?..No? Most likely not. I know I don't. That right there is white privilege.I liked Sam(the main character) because she wasn't afraid to showcase her thoughts, opinions no matter what her other friends thought or said. She continued to do what she knew she had to do. The show was well written but there was a weird plotline and I got confused at times but that's ok. My favorite character is Coco because I envy her back-story. She is a literal queen. You should watch it.
