The book really drags you into Claudia's perspective, but that's kind of the problem with it. Since Claudia has the mind of a child, she has irrational thoughts and she spirals into rants that the reader already understands. The twists and disturbing message in this book was shown in very intricate ways, and I love the fact the entire book is basically just foreshadows galore. Some people aren't into that, but I loved it.
