Quite remarkable in its conception and execution. Questions of identity, gender, aspirations, glass ceiling etc, so relevant today ( because they're universal) are examined here in a piece which, with moments of dread to change the pace, surprises, lifts and wakens. Excellent and highly recommended. Glenn Close is quite brilliant..... but it's not a showcase for her. Oh no!

Strangely familiar if you scratch away at the alien surfaces. People can think they have purpose when they are persuaded there's something to hate.

The leading premise remains attractive. Unfortunately, in dealing with a released criminal we might expect a level of respect ( it's a fiction, it's fun. It's etc etc) and consistency in direction and tone. Instead we are served, at times, a mixture of inappropriate and discordant chimes. Honestly... decide on tone and means of delivery. So series 1 failed. Therefore, I moved elsewhere. Series 2? I really don't care.

A remarkable examination of the emotional and tug of war between habit, security and fidelity and a brief but devastating encounter doomed perhaps...by decency or tragedy. Gripping. Brilliant.

Realism without murder, chaos and nonsense. A story of love across generations with a hint of deception. Good performances by the usual suspects especially Eve Best. She was really very good......as in first among Equals etc Highly recommended three part non-bbc drama.
